By Subway
Fast services, frequent itineraries and relatively affordable prices make Athens subway a very popular transportation option. The airport train station building is located at the Departures Level. You can purchase a ticket from the station's ticket offices paying 10€ for a one-way ticket (5€ for students and elders) and 18€ for a return ticket and get to Syntagma Square in about 40 minutes. Athens airport subway line 3 departs from the airport every 30 minutes from 06:30 am to 11:30 pm.
By Taxi
Airport taxis are the most expensive, yet the most convenient way to reach Athens city center. Door-to-door transfer services, modern and air-conditioned vehicles and enough storage space guarantee a convenient journey to your destination. The yellow Athens airport taxis queue up outside Exit 3 of the Arrivals Level. The taxi fare is flat, at 38€ during daytime (05:00 am – 00:00 am) and 54€ during the night shift while the total journey to Athens city center lasts 35–40 minutes under normal traffic conditions.
By Car
For those who prefer renting a car, there are a plethora of options at the airport. Compare their prices and services and hire the vehicle that best suits your needs and preferences. The journey from Athens airport to your destination in downtown Athens will take approximately 35–40 minutes depending on the traffic levels and the exact location of your final stop.
Express Bus (Line X95)
The X95 bus is a 24-hour, economical and reliable option. Route: Airport – Syntagma (departure point). Duration: About 60–70 minutes (depending on traffic). Frequency: Every 15–20 minutes (24/7). Boarding point: Arrivals level, between Exits 4 and 5. Ticket: About 6€ (single).
